Live Music @ Daily's
Cigar Lounge and Bar
Sean and Stacey say...
We had a late snack and
enjoyed a great local band on our first night. The location was close
to the hotel and the staff and band took requests. Five stars since the
local band got us warmed up for the Gov't Mule show the following night.

Dailey's Downstairs is a landmark in downtown Atlanta, as a
casual grill in the daytime serving an eclectic menu of oversized sandwiches,
burgers and colossal salads to the downtown office crowd. In the
evening, Dailey's Downstairs progresses into a Martini and Cigar bar
featuring unique cocktails and over 40 different cigars with a tasty light
appetizer menu. Dailey's Downstairs is the only nightspot in downtown Atlanta
with live entertainment 7 nights a week. A great after work bar for
downtowners and locals, Dailey’s Downstairs is a destination for Atlanta visitors.

Best night of the
weekend! A great and interesting venue and of course Warren Haynes was
in rare form as he played until 1:45am to a full house. If you have the
chance to see Gov't Mule you must go. It is a chance to see a living
guitar god at the top of his career. You've been told.

The Tabernacle
building has a rich & storied history. Opened in 1910 as The Broughton
Tabernacle; Dr. Leonard Gaston Broughton was the pastor and a physician. Dr.
Broughton started the Georgia Baptist Medical Center and nursing school,
which began as the Tabernacle infirmary with three beds. The Third Baptist
Church was an active congregation with over 4000 members. The congregation
relocated during the mid eighties and the building lay vacant until the 1996
Centennial Olympic Games, when it was converted into a House of Blues club.
After the Olympics, the building continued to operate as a music venue under
a variety of different owners. Live Nation currently operates the Tabernacle;
Live Nation is the world's largest live music company.

They have every Coke

Journey into the heart
of the world's news leader at Inside CNN Atlanta. This 55-minute
behind-the-scenes tour shows you exactly what it takes to deliver the news
available to over 2 billion people worldwide.
Sean and Stacey say...
Well worth the
$12. This was a quick walking tour but it really does give you a look
behind the scenes and explains some of the technology used to keep the news
going 24 hours a day. Even the gift shop provided laughs as Stacey and
I discovered that both Anderson Cooper and Nancy Grace have signature hats
and shirts. We decided against the Nancy shirt since she scares both of
us with that big old melon head and bad makeup. Instead we opted for
the Robin and Company gear since I wake up with her most mornings. I
also got to see where Robin does her show each morning. Little known
fact: The CNN Center was originally the "Magical World of Sid and
Marty Kroft", the escalator to the right was part of human pinball machine
back in the late 70's. From HR Puffnstuff to 24-hour news, yes truth is
stranger than fiction.

Hard Rock Cafe -
Atlanta
If the B-52's song
"Love Shack" were to ever find a permanent home, Atlanta's Hard
Rock Cafe would be the place. With its southern charm and renowned
hospitality, this location truly gives meaning to our "Love All Serve
All" motto. Situated in downtown Atlanta's Cornerstone Building, our
restaurant could be considered a cornerstone of southern rock. Packed with
memorabilia from rock legends with roots south of the Mason-Dixon Line, this
cafe serves up delicious delicacies everyday.
Sean and Stacey say...
We love this chain and
they have yet to disappoint us. Our server "Love" was funny
and bright and very un-pc. We sat in front of a jacket worn by Madonna
back in the 80's, man is she tiny! The macaroni and cheese is the best
and since Stacey and I are members of the Hard Rock rewards program we try to
visit if we are in a city that has one.

Behind the headlines…

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) -- Kid Rock was arrested early Sunday after a
brawl at a restaurant and spent about 12 hours in jail before being released,
police said.
The musician stopped
at the Waffle House restaurant shortly after 5 a.m. after his performance at The
Tabernacle in Atlanta, authorities said.
|
"He and five
members of his entourage were involved in a fight with a male customer inside
the Waffle House," said Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb
County Police Department.
The customer recognized a female with Kid Rock's party and exchanged words
with her, Parish said. "It escalated to a physical altercation between
Kid Rock and that male customer and moved outside to the parking lot,"
she said. At some point the customer punched out a restaurant window, she
said. Kid Rock left in his tour bus and was stopped by police about a mile
from the restaurant, Parish said. The musician and five members of his
entourage were taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.

Sean and Stacey say...
Ok, we tried to get
into this show since we had such a great time the night before at the Gov't
Mule show. No luck, the box office was closed and there were no scalpers so
we made the best of it by standing next to an open door near the stage. We
could hear and while we could not see it was as good a lawn seat! The parking
lot near the door was stacked up with the tour buses and semis. We watched
the crew work outside while we listened to Kid give marriage advice. He said
the wedding was great; it was the marriage that sucked. Nice? Anywho the next
morning as Stacey and I made our way to the CNN tour we walked through the
parking lot again and this time we saw a huge pile of garbage. It was stacked
up right where the buses had been and judging from the number bottles we
could only assume that the band was in another world by the time they got to
the Waffle House. We actually took this picture before we even heard about
the arrest. How funny?
More Kid Rock here
