Flat Stanley Hits SF for the Alternative Press Expo
-
My nephew Justin sent me his
class project Flat Stanley. Stan and I decided
to hit the APE comic show in San Francisco this
weekend. He's on his way back to NY but his
memory will last!!!
Time Capsule
- I found some old
pictures during a recent trip to NY. I present a select few for
your amusement. Remember they were taken in a different time and
that often means people had different hair.
Pick your Rant
-
It's been awhile since
I've shared some of my observations and adventures. I
just finished working in West Virginia so now I get
to work in the bay area for awhile. To appease the
complaining readers -yes you Kane- I have assembled two freshy fresh commentaries on contemporary life.

Jackie Greene
- I can't imagine being this talented and this young at the same time.
Jackie has real talent and artistry that he's earned over the years
playing clubs, parks, and anywhere that would have him.
The Warfield RIP - My last night
ushering at The Warfield in San Francisco. Phil Lesh and Friends
closed the historic venue with 5 sold out shows. The band played
well into the night as friends old and new mourned the loss of an icon.
Monkey Undone!
- The shocking story behind the new AT&T ad campaign. The story and
likeness of Banana have been stolen and twisted by ma Bell.
Kinky Goodness
- Ray Davies is underappreciated, there I said it. He along with
brother Dave were at the forefront of the British Invasion with
The Who, The Stones, and The Beatles. This guy has been there and
done that more times over and he still continues to beg the audience for
love and acceptance.
Photoshop 101
- While the boy is away Stacey still plays. Check these awesome
pictures from last week. I was in West Virginia working and Stacey
worked all week at the Warfield. The Dead, Velvet Revolver, and
James Blunt all performed.
Comic Shopping in Europe
- I recently had the opportunity to visit Milan,
Dublin, and Barcelona. The trip was for business but I did have
enough free time to explore the comic shops in each of these cities.
Dark Side of the
Moonshine
- Where else? Poor Man's Whiskey brings their critically
acclaimed bluegrass interpretation of Pink Floyd's classic album
"Dark Side of the Moon" to the legendary Great American Music
Hall.
Half Moon Bay 4 A Day - The storms
have broken and now we can finally get out and remember why we love the
San Francisco Bay Area so much. Join us for a quick road trip down
the PCH to a gem of town tucked along the coast.
Haunted Christmas
- The bizarre and twisted Christmas
decorations displayed by one of neighbors.
New Years Cake
- New Years Eve in San Francisco offers plenty of options.
This year Stacey and I decided to work at the Warfield.
Cake was headlining the show and they are always a super groovy
fun time.
Headless Children & Other Mysteries of the City
-
Big bad birthmus is here and I have a bad attitude.
Brain Dump
- I review the new Superman book and DVD, share my impressions of the
Tom Petty documentary and book, and so much more.
Kids Comics -
One thing leads to another and to another...This idea came from some
really cool kids I know. |
