"Rock n Roll Jesus" Live from David Letterman

Okay now if that live clip didn’t get you interested then perhaps I’ll have to walk you through it.  Hey I was a skeptic until this past month.  Stacey and I had a near brush with the Kid prior to his arrest in Atlanta.  Then we downloaded his new CD and I have to say that this perhaps the finest American rock n roll album in the last 10 years.  No disrespect to Bruce or John Cougar Mellonballs or even Mr. Petty but Kid Rock’s new CD blows them all away and leaves huge crater behind.  Now this disk is not for the kids but adults should find that this is sure to become a guilty pleasure.  My love of Rock N Roll Jesus made me dig a little deeper and try to find out more than the headlines.  His biography is a story of a guy who just never gave up.  He endured the ridicule of the press and the fickleness of record labels and stayed true to his brand of music.  Even if you can’t appreciate the way he has taken almost every form of American music and thrown into a blender to create something both familiar and unique then you have to respect his determination.  You should defiantly check out his bio on his website http://www.kidrock.com/bio.php.

The next chapter begins with a desire to see him live, yes actually see him in concert and of course this weekend he is appearing at the Fillmore in San Francisco.  The concert has been sold out for weeks so we headed to Craigslist and located 2 tickets for double face value.  A quick drive to Mission Street and within minutes we had the tickets in our hands.  We’ll follow up with a review of the show shortly…

Kid Rock Says He's Not a Troublemaker

NEW YORK (AP) — Kid Rock isn't one to back down from a fight, but says he doesn't go looking for trouble.

"Last thing I want is to have a reputation. I believe in standing up for things I believe in," the 36-year-old rock-rapper told Ellen DeGeneres on her syndicated talk show Thursday. "Being honest sometimes gets me in a little bit of trouble."

Kid Rock — who quarreled with Tommy Lee at MTV's Video Music Awards last month — was arrested early Sunday after a brawl at a Waffle House restaurant in Atlanta.

"It started with me celebrating a great show that night. We were hungry. It was late at night," he told DeGeneres.

"I know the people work hard at Waffle House so I tipped people behind the counter and gave $300 to split up. Bought everyone breakfast in there," he said. "We had a good time. This one kid just started talking. ... And then one thing led to another, windows were breaking, cussing and fussing ... the mud, the blood and the beer."

Kid Rock explained: "He said, `I hope you get mad, I'll sue the hell out of you.' I'm like, `Take a number.'"

Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County Police Department, said the fight between Kid Rock and a male customer moved outside to the parking lot, and at some point, the customer punched out a restaurant window.

Kid Rock and five members of his entourage were taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery. He was released from the county jail on bond Sunday afternoon, Parish said.

Much more to come...

More Kid Rock fun...
