Dark Side of the Moonshine

Poor Man's Whiskey brings their critically acclaimed bluegrass interpretation of Pink Floyd's classic album "Dark Side of the Moon" to the legendary Great American Music Hall. Dressed as the characters from the Wizard of Oz, and under the canopy of the Laser and Liquid Light show, it will be an evening not to be missed!

 from a transplanted New Yorker.

Where else but in San Francisco would you find such an event?  The usual suspects gathered at the penthouse for a pre-show warm up and we were off.  The show was a mix of hippies and hillbillies and a healthy mix of earthy types.  The band delivered a high powered set complete with multimedia laser show.  The band dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz also added a special touch of the surreal.

The musicians were actually very accomplished and they owned the performance.  The crowd also ate up the opportunities to sing along and add in the various sound effects from the original recording.

The show even included the flying monkeys.

Well I have to get ready to head off to France today but I wanted to get this post up before leaving.  The lesson here is take a chance and you might be rewarded with something very new and very familiar.  Floyd, friends and fun; isn't that what its all about anyways?

Peace,
Sean
