While the boy is away Stacey still plays. Check these awesome pictures from last week. I was in West Virginia working while Stacey worked all week at the Warfield. The Dead, Velvet Revolver, and James Blunt all performed. |

First up was two nights of the remaining Grateful Dead members performing for the Obama faithful. Who knew Deadheads were backing Obama? I didn't but judging from Stacey's pictures I wonder if this is constituency he is really looking to build?

Deadheads for ObamaThe stinky hippies descended onto Market Street for the magic of The Dead. Never mind that the band is hardly the band it was and Jerry has been dead longer than some of the kids who were lined up for the show. The single finger extended to the heavens was the gang sign dejour. Years ago this sign was used by OD's (Original Deadheads) to request a "miracle" (free ticket). It was not uncommon for the OD's to help each other out and wait for the big karmic wheel to swing around. This noble practice has been diluted by a generational game of telephone and today the kids think its only a way to get in for free. Too bad for us and them.

Whether you are for Obama or not please at least take some time to vote. It's kind of important especially when our world is in such critical shape. If we all just accept what the rich and privileged feed us then we will soon be using the finger to signal our need for food and water. Peace at least? Is that too much to ask? Jordon doesn't think so... Velvet Revolver
All out rock n roll mayhem from Slash and the boys. Sold out!
Stacey has gotten used to the new camera.
How awesome is this picture? Stacey must have been moshing it up in the pit. James Blunt
Last up was Brit crooner and all around emo guy James Blunt. I hope you enjoyed Stacey's photo journal of her week of jams on the Leftcoast. One last note, not only did Stacey get to see all these shows but in about a week she'll get a check for $78.36. Yup we get paid for helping folks to their seats and once the headliner is on stage we get cut. Now we just find an empty seat or better yet a spot down in the front and enjoy the shows.
