Comic
Shopping in Europe -
I recently had the
opportunity to visit Milan, Dublin, and Barcelona. The trip was for
business but I did have enough free time to explore the comic shops in
each of these cities. The experience is very different in each city but
the shop owners and customers are very much the same.
Dark
Side of the Moonshine - Poor Man's Whiskey brings their critically
acclaimed bluegrass interpretation of Pink Floyd's classic album "Dark
Side of the Moon" to the legendary Great American Music Hall. Dressed as
the characters from the Wizard of Oz, and under the canopy of the Lazer
and Liquid Light show, it will be an evening not to be missed!
Half
Moon Bay 4 a Day - The storms have broken and now we can finally
get out and remember why we love the San Francisco Bay Area so much. Join us
for a quick road trip down the PCH to a gem of town tucked along the
coast.
Kids Comics - One thing leads to
another and to another...This idea came from some really cool kids I
know. Hopefully I can capture the energy and excitement they
have for my hobby. Kids making comics for kids an idea who's
time has come. Look for yourself.
New
Years Cake - New Years Eve in San Francisco offers plenty of
options. This year Stacey and I decided to work at the Warfield.
Cake was headlining the show and they are always a super groovy fun
time. The older crowd means less hassles for the ushers and the
band has only gotten better over the years.
Brain
Dump – This week I review the new
Superman book and DVD,
share my impressions of the Tom
Petty documentary and book, rant about the
Real Housewives of Orange
County, welcome a new monkey, imagine I’m a guitar
god like Warren Haynes, and
learn what's it like to be a Third World
Cop. It's all ridiculous!
Our Kid Rock Saga
Continues... - Sunday evening rolled
around so Stacey and I got ready for the show then headed out to the
bus stop. It seemed fitting to ride the MUNI to see the great
white trash rocker in person.
Kid
Rock - The kid grows up and we are part
of the party. The new CD is the best American rock n roll to
come out in years. Visit our tribute page because we are not
afraid to say, "We believe!"
All
Heart -
John Starks worked his way into the NBA. Junior colleges and minor
league teams helped create this special player. Between seasons he
packed groceries and did other odd jobs. No golden child for sure
but I fear he is quickly being forgotten, replaced by high school
super-stars and spoiled men who act as if the fans don't matter.
