Keeping it Left since 2001!!!

RIP May 18, 2008 - The Warfield, San Francisco

A photo journal with captions from my last show at the Warfield.  I wish I could write more but I am really sad and for now this is all I can muster.  Thanks for understanding because it is really like losing a friend of the family.  The Warfield helped me through my divorce, gave me friends when I moved into the city, and put Stacey into my life.  How do say good bye to something that has had such a profound impact?  Well I'm looking these pictures and remembering all the fun and love...I need a tissue...

Just a few of the great people we've had the privilege of working with over the years.

Future super-star Jackie Greene put the band through it's paces.  Phil has a way of attracting the best of the best to join his annual tours.  If you don't about Jackie then it's time you did, go download his current CD Giving Up the Ghost.

The Warfield was all dressed for the Dead during this last week of shows.

Stairway to heaven or stairway to the balcony depending on your point of view.

The quiet theater just before we opened the house.

The ceiling mural, will it survive the new tenants?  I hope so...

One last look before the hippies descend.

The detail in this theater is everywhere you look.

The house band sign from years ago was pressed into service one last time.

The first intermission allowed old friends to catch up, it seemed like everyone knew each other.

Yes there were three sets but the times here were just suggestions.  The final set finished at 2:30 am.

Notice the blankets hanging on the barricade.  Hippies always carry blankets, like Linus from Peanuts.  I wonder if Linus was a Deadhead?  Charles Shultz did live just down the road from Jerry.  Hmmm...?

Good bye old friend; thank-you and Rest in Peace, you won't be forgotten in my lifetime...

Our last usher badges and last posters

..oh look...the poster is an homage to the ceiling mural..

I'm gonna cry again :(
